Getting Growin'

I finally feel happy with what is growing in our garden! We have some Romaine (sprouted and just planted), beets, carrots, broccoli (not big at all but oh-so-tasty!), peas. I planted these a while back and they are doing well. This weekend planted Tomatoes (yellow pear, a big orange type, and lots of plum). Hoping they do well, as last year the tomotoes all got some fungus thing... I've also planted my green beans, two rounds, but the first round hasn't sprouted yet, and I thought they should have by now. I set out some more seeds yesterday, so if they are not up in the next two weeks, I'm buying some plants from the nursery.

Here are our crops :0
We have 8 kinds of tomatoes (2 different plums, yellow pear, sungold, sweet 100's, white oxheart, grandma viney's pink and yellow, pederson's beefsteak), a few measly carrots, pepperoncini, orange bell pepper, romaine lettuce, beets, radishes, peas and green beans. No harvest yet, except a couple of radishes. Do you like radishes?? I will give you some :)

It's just amazing with these underground veggies! You just don't know what you've got until you pull them out of the earth. I love it! My carrots are so cute and I'm just in awe of nature. Haven't tried them yet. But I'll let you know if they are good.

I am very excited that you have your garden going and growing, Farmer T! Your radishes are beautiful. I am pathetic over here...7 types of tomatoes with no ground to plant them in, and a sad herb/flower garden. We will do containers, I think, for tomatoes, green beans and peas. We are so late, though, that I don't know how they will all do! My herbs are looking happier: italian parsley, basil, lemon thyme, sage, and I am hoping marjoram and cilantro will sprout up soon.

I am pretty excited. I have growing at my farm the following delicious veggies:
Arugula
Eggplant
Carrot
Radish
Cilantro
Spinach
Broccoli
Onion
Lettuce
and many more I don't know because I sort of goofed and forgot to label some. So they will be surprise crops :)

Farmer T was busy today

So I am a very happy but tired farmer. Got up at the crack of dawn (not really but sounds better than I got up at 9ish) and this is what I accomplished:

1. Moved 3 planter boxes from weed infested husband's part of backyard.
2. Moved dirt from weed infested yard to nicer yard into the 3 planter boxes.
3. Mixed in compost to the planter boxes.
4. Made a sign for the garden and rock labels for the garden (with Mini Farmer A).
5. Planted seeds: Arugala, Carrots, Califlower, Broccoli, Lettuce, Eggplants, Radish, Cilantro, Cucumber, Spinach. Farmer T was smarter this time and made sure to make note of what she planted and where.
6. Made two plastic compost bins and started composting.
7. Planted 3 new plants and 1 lime tree in front yard. Transplanted a pine tree.
8. Killed chicken and made dinner for family. (Ok maybe strike the first part).
